isaac mizrahi skirt

fellow It's(k)notwood reader Enrique tipped us off on this new woodgrain print skirt by Isaac Mizrahi for Target - i think its hillarious and could look great with the right accessories, although i think Em got a little scared of it. anyways- thanks Enrique!

yes, i must admit, i was a little freaked out at first glance. i was trying to figure out what bothered me - was it the silhoutte, maybe it would've looked better as a pencil skirt or in a darker wood; or does the girl look like naked wood because we don't see the bark?! maybe i've already seen the perfect wood skirt - hussein chalayan's bent hoop wood skirt. (not faux, but will post it..) my next thought was match it up with a geen sweatshirt and what a great costume this would be for halloween - a girl tree. i could go on. i'm sure isaac had his reasons, so be it.

No Prob. I'm sure Michael Kors and Nina Garcia would have skewered the designer if it showed up on Project Runway. Definitely a fugly design and not a very flattering silhouette. Ms. Mizrahi should know better than this... Plus, it reads more Todd Oldham to me.

PS How convenient that you can get both this skirt and the Method wood wipes at Target.

This skirt is so good!! I am mad I did not make it. I wonder if it looks terrible in real life...No Targets in the immediate area. must see!

I actually bought this skirt and have already worn it several times--and gotten many compliments! I can't wait for spring, when I can wear it with green tights and flowers in my hair. Heeee!

(PS, hello--found you via Lisa.
