Jeana Sohn at Giant Robot

This month's cover of Giant Robot features a fantastic painting by Jeana Sohn. Loving the personal and unique interpretation of woodgrain on the issue's cover. Her mischievous characters play out seemingly serious adventures in her depictions of forests and oceans. My favorite piece, which happens to be painted on a little egg, is of strange birds beaming infared rays through a black sky. Her solo show is totally worth a visit at Giant Robot in West Los Angeles through April 19.
